South African Road Conditions

South Africa has a well developed road infrastructure and a self drive holiday is a convenient and affordable way of exploring the country.

South Africa’s main national roads are generally well maintained and in a good condition, although roads in rural areas may not be as well kept and may occasionally be pot-holed.

Many of the major main roads are toll roads. Information on Toll Plaza Locations and Toll Plaza Fees can be obtained from the Automobile Association of South Africa.
